Some Backstory and More

Some Backstory First

So as a kid growing up I was exposed quite heavily to the military and military aircraft especially as my dad was a maintainer for F-16's for the majority of his professional career. From that time I always had that dream to fly, but when I was about 10 I started believe that I wouldn't be good enough to do it, and sometimes that fear still resides within me. However, in college I decided I wouldn't give up on that dream and that I would prove that I AM capable and that I am more than capable of being a fighter pilot for the world's greatest Air Force. I still have very limited experience in physically flying having actually only flown an aircraft once, however that little time that I did have was enough for me to know that it absolutely is my passion and that I will fight for that passion. Surprisingly, at this point in the pipeline to that goal, there isn't actually much flight related things happening. Mostly its just making sure that I make great grades and do my best work as an Air Force cadet.

The FUN Stuff I Teased

Now in my previous post I mentioned how I was venturing out into new territory in my time in my flight simulator. I decided I would begin to study and learn the A-10 which is affectionately known as the Warthog. Now this is a huge change when comparing it to the F-16 which I will mention that I do still fly alongside the A-10. It literally feels like trying to fly a tank with wings, so it is extremely heavy. It does not have nearly the thrust to make it fast or agile like conventional fighters, but it does have many strengths. It makes up for the slow speed and heavy nature by carrying an extremely large payload of munitions in the form of rockets, bombs, and/or air to ground missiles. It is also extremely durable and very difficult to take down. It specializes in being able to constantly bombard ground targets with those various munitions in conjunction with its large Gatling gun. So in the future of my posts I expect it might be a toss-up whether I'll be learning something new in the F-16 or in the A-10.
Bye everyone,
Tyler
